Earlier this year we predicted a few home design trends that would likely increase in popularity in 2021. One year into the pandemic, work-from-home trends are still popular, necessary, and may even be a big part of the new normal. It’s clear that people interested in construction, decor, and real estate enhancement projects are still putting a lot of time and attention into creating the ideal living space with new home building trends.
Bigger Houses, More Houses, and Enhancing Construction and Decor
The desire for new home construction trends we looked at earlier this year is still high. Home buyers continue to seek out the most bang for their buck, especially since they still anticipate spending ample time at home. But not only are we seeing bigger homes, we’re seeing more homes. As pandemic restrictions ease and the warmer months settle in, construction teams are eager to get to work on new developments. In February of this year there were an estimated 1.68 million building permits authorized for privately owned new housing units. That’s up 17 percent from February of 2020.
Energy Efficiency at Home
Home buyers continue to recognize that their health is inevitably a byproduct of the ways in which they operate in the world around them. Now, more than ever, energy efficiency is at the forefront of the decision-making process involved in building a home. Everything from lighting to interior design to luxury home aluminum windows and doors are generally considered as they relate to their environmental effects.
More Luxury Glasswork and Windows
More time at home means more time for Monumental views and reimagined living spaces. Today’s homebuyer has moved beyond only considering traditional factors such as location, square footage, and cost. Many of them are also taking in the possibilities surrounding colors, multipurpose living spaces, and even “staycation”-worthy features. Monumental Windows and Doors offers plenty of custom products built for these interests.
Home Renovation
If buyers aren’t finding any luck in a crowded market space, home renovation is still a possibility. Many homeowners are open to changing up a few things around the spaces they already occupy. Dreaming big is easy here at Monumental Windows and Doors with products such as our 5000 series Sublinear Sliding Door System. They’re built especially for transforming ordinary areas into extraordinary spaces—with stellar views included.
Monumental certifies all of its products through the NFRC, ASTM, and AAMA to ensure that we meet energy efficiency standards.
